Peach Days 2024 in Hurricane, Utah, is an annual tradition that never disappoints, and 2024 was no exception. As someone who looks forward to this event every year, I can say without a doubt that this year’s festival was one of the best yet. From the moment you step onto the streets filled with vendors, food, and entertainment, there’s an undeniable sense of community and joy that fills the air.
Peaches Galore and Local Vendors
One of the first things you notice when you arrive is the abundance of peaches for sale. Right off the street, vendors were selling peaches in boxes, and the fresh, sweet smell set the tone for the festival. It’s always great to see local farmers sharing their best produce, and the peaches were as juicy and delicious as ever.
In addition to the peaches, there were plenty of other vendors selling all sorts of items, including Peach Days t-shirts. While a lot of the merchandise was fun and unique, my favorite part of Peach Days has always been the food booths. The variety is incredible, and if you come hungry, you’re in for a treat.
Funnel Cakes and International Flavors
One of my first stops was the Little Mini Donuts booth. These bite-sized treats were warm, fluffy, and perfectly sweet—exactly what you need to kick off a day at the festival. Of course, I couldn’t leave without grabbing a funnel cake topped with peaches. There’s something magical about combining a crisp funnel cake with the sweet, juicy peaches that Peach Days is all about.
As I wandered through the food booths, I came across an international food area that was absolutely amazing. My personal favorite was the Thai food booth, where I got a plate of chicken and sausage with curry. The flavors were bold and comforting, and the curry had just the right amount of heat. There were also pupusas, a classic Salvadoran dish, which were delicious. It was great to see such a diverse array of international cuisine, giving everyone something unique to try.
Ice Cream, Lemonade, and Sweet Treats
No festival would be complete without something sweet to cool off with, and Peach Days certainly delivered. The ice cream selection was fantastic, ranging from local favorite Handel’s Ice Cream to soft serve peach ice cream. Peach ice cream is a must-try at the festival, and the balance of the creamy texture with the fresh peach flavor made it one of the highlights of my day.
One of the coolest drinks I had came in a boot-shaped container, which was a fun keepsake. The selection of lemonades and drinks was vast, with everything from classic lemonade to more creative fruity mixes. It’s impossible to leave Peach Days without sipping on at least one refreshing drink to beat the Southern Utah heat.
Family Fun and Unique Finds
For families, Peach Days 2024 was a paradise. My kids had a blast with the handmade squirt guns, made out of surgical tubing. They loved running around, squirting each other and having a great time in the warm weather. It’s these small, quirky items that make Peach Days feel special and unique.
One of the booths that stood out to me was selling homemade jams and wood train sets. The craftsmanship was impressive, and it was wonderful to see so many local artisans showcasing their talents. My personal favorite booth was a local artist selling photographs of Southern Utah printed on fine metal. The colors and scenes were absolutely stunning, and I couldn’t resist picking up one of the prints for my home.
Community Spirit and Church Involvement
What really sets Peach Days apart is the strong sense of community. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints played a big role in the event, offering free watermelon to attendees. The church’s missionaries were out in full force, handing out slices of watermelon with a smile. It was a small but meaningful gesture that added to the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of the festival.
The festival also featured plenty of local art exhibits, including a charming display of children’s artwork and art made from seeds. It was heartwarming to see the creativity and talent within the community on full display, and it added a special touch to the event.
There were also local supplements and vendors like fruits and vegetable supplements.
Activities for All Ages
For those looking for a bit of adventure, Peach Days 2024 had plenty of activities to offer. The festival featured a bouncy house area, which kept the younger crowd entertained for hours. Meanwhile, I couldn’t resist trying my hand at the speed pitch booth, where you can see how fast you can throw a baseball. I was pretty proud of my 64-mile-per-hour pitch, even though the younger guys might have been a bit faster.
One of the most memorable activities for me was the pioneer-style setup, complete with a blacksmith demonstration. It was fascinating to see how metalwork was done in the past, and the blacksmith was more than happy to explain his craft. This hands-on experience added a touch of history to the festival, making it educational as well as fun.
The Bubble Party and Fireworks
The nights at Peach Days are just as lively as the days. One evening, they hosted a full bubble party, where the streets were filled with soap bubbles, and kids danced around in pure delight. It was one of those magical moments that you don’t often see, and it made for a fun, carefree night.
Of course, no festival would be complete without a fireworks display, and Peach Days delivered. The fireworks on the final night were a stunning spectacle, lighting up the sky in a beautiful tribute to the end of the festival. It was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible weekend.
Wrapping Up Peach Days 2024
Peach Days 2024 was a celebration of community, food, fun, and tradition. From the incredible food—especially the mini donuts—to the unique local vendors and the sense of connection that filled the air, it was an event that left me with plenty of great memories. Whether you’re there for the peaches, the parade, or just to spend time with friends and family, Peach Days has something for everyone.
